Lion Buttress Hike
Starting at the Gorge car park in Royal Natal head roughly South up the hill. This is a steep hike of 558m elevation gain over 3.3km.
The views at the top of the Amphitheatre, Tugela Falls and the Sentinel are magnificent.

Great views but end of trail is impossible to find
The man part of the trail along the gorge is beautiful (though in need of maintenance in parts) but the end to climb up Lions Buttress itself is impossible to find as the trail is in such poor condition and signs are non existent. We’ve found signage both in this park and at Cathedral Peak really poor, and could easily be fixed with minor upgrades. That said we still loved the scenery though and enjoyed our hike.
